For the Pixel Lineage best class on a first character, choose Warrior if your priority is learning attack timing with a defensive starting kit. Choose Mage for a spell-focused direction, Archer for bows, or Bard when you want healing and team support. Those are role-based recommendations from the visible starting kits, rather than a measured ranking of every endgame build.
Quick Guide
- Choose your goal first: learning combat, spells, bows or team support.
- Before confirming, read the weapon, opening move and passive restrictions.
- Compare later super-class branches separately from your starting choice.

Pixel Lineage best class: choose by your goal
The Pixel Lineage best class question changes once your goal changes. A starting class controls your weapon and opening moves, while a super class is a later branch of that starting choice. Decide whether you are learning your first Normal run or already building for advanced farming before following a recommendation.
| Goal | Starting choice | Reason and limit |
|---|---|---|
| First Normal run | Warrior | Easy label and opening defense; still learn timing |
| Spell-focused play | Mage | Spell role and Energy-dependent barrier |
| Bow attacks | Archer | Bow skills; passive and skill penetration differ |
| Healing in a group | Bard | Healing, inspiration and Encore |
| Critical-hit play | Thief | Backstab can still be dodged |
| Repeated accurate hits | Fist | Multi-hit techniques; accuracy remains important |
Why Warrior is the beginner recommendation
Warrior carries a sword and has the strongest defense bar in the six-class selection preview. Its Reinforced passive starts a battle with a defense bonus that lasts until one direct hit consumes it. Dodges and damage over time do not use that effect up, so the opening protection is conditional rather than permanent.
ItzVexo recommends Warrior for learning the combat rhythm, and the reviewed battle shows a completed Blade timing chain against Pebble. That combination supports a beginner recommendation without proving that Warrior deals the most damage. Use the Warrior guide to read Shoulder Bash and Taunt before deciding whether its protective role matches your plan.
The Shoulder Bash preview says its damage scales with defense and its daze skips an enemy action. It also says bosses usually shrug the effect off. Do not build a boss strategy around guaranteed stun, and do not treat a class-preview defense bar as a measured survival rate.

ItzVexo · Source / open if playback failsMage: spells with an Energy trade-off
Mage is the staff-based arcane specialist, and its preview describes a fragile role that learns elemental spells from scrolls. Mage Barrier makes Guard cost Energy and ties absorption to the Energy held. That means choosing Mage also means paying attention to the resource available when you defend, rather than reading the barrier as free protection.
Mage’s Sense is a different effect: its temporary attack bonus is followed by a damage penalty. Read both halves before timing your next damaging action. The Mage guide keeps that wording separate from the barrier, so a short damage buff is not confused with a complete spell rotation.
Both ItzVexo and HugeScorpion associate Vesper with a magic-focused direction. Their recommendations make Vesper worth inspecting if you already have it, but do not establish a required race. Read the race description and your available skills together before spending scarce spins just to copy another character.

ItzVexo · SourceArcher: compare basic arrows with Power Shot
Archer is the bow-based ranged option and is labeled Easy in the starting preview. Its Keen Eye passive says basic arrows ignore a little of the target’s defense. Power Shot separately lists a defense-penetration value, so that skill’s number should not be applied to every arrow you fire.
Twin Shot and Crippling Arrow also appear in the preview with their own unlock labels. Compare the actual move text instead of assuming all bow actions do the same job. The Archer guide gives the menu details; it does not claim a tested endgame damage advantage over Mage or Warrior.
The ok ok farming video favors Archer and Mage, but it uses advanced progression and gear that the author says predates an update. That is a farming-build report with substantial prerequisites, not a reason for every beginner to erase a character. Ultra damage, account-wide income and “infinite” farming claims need separate verification under comparable conditions.

ItzVexo · SourceBard, Thief and Fist: choose the mechanic you want
Bard uses a lute and is the support-focused starting choice, with healing, inspiration and disruptive songs in its preview. Encore restores Energy when healing succeeds. Mending Melody also mentions Energy recovery, but the two descriptions do not prove a double refund from the same heal.
Thief uses a dagger and emphasizes critical hits and attacks from behind. Its Backstab wording allows the enemy to dodge even though a landed strike is a critical hit. If you choose it for critical attacks, keep hit chance and critical chance separate when judging a failed attack.
Fist uses gauntlets and builds around repeated accurate hits. The Flurry preview gives each hit its own hit and critical check, and Iron Fists excludes weapon and spell damage from its bonus. Choose it because you want that technique-focused kit, rather than assuming a multi-hit animation guarantees every hit will land.
What to check before confirming your class
Stop on the selected role and check its weapon, first move and passive before pressing Enter. A defensive opening, an Energy barrier and a healing-triggered refund solve different problems, so choose the mechanic you intend to use. If the move text contains a penalty or an excluded damage type, include that restriction in your decision rather than counting only its bonus. The reviewed menu describes the class as a path for good, so keep a later super-class branch separate from an assumed free starting-class swap.
Keep starting classes and super classes separate
The six starting choices are Warrior, Thief, Mage, Fist, Archer and Bard. In the documented Dungeon event, a Warrior can inspect Berserk, Sentinel and Greatsword at the Forgotten Dojo. Those choices extend the Warrior direction; they do not demonstrate changing the same character into an unrelated starting class.
The trainer preview warns that the branch is a lasting choice and also offers a way to defer. Read the available moves and their later unlock labels before confirming. A skill’s level label is not, by itself, evidence of the minimum level needed to enter the event.
Use the starting class comparison when you need the full roster and individual skill pages. Use this selection guide when you need to decide which role fits your next run. A permanent S-to-D ranking of all super and ultra builds remains Pending confirmation because the available samples do not compare them with equal gear, race, mode and progression.
