Quick Guide
- Choose the 母亲瘟疫 Boss card in Chapter 3, The Cursed Forest.
- Check skill costs and your remaining Energy; Guard costs no Energy in the capture.
- Confirm Blightbane and Chapter 3 completion, then inspect the chest.
In Chapter 3, The Cursed Forest, select the Boss route marked 母亲瘟疫, manage HP and Energy through the fight, then open the chest after the boss reaches zero HP. The captured Normal fight shows level 36 and 2285 HP. Use Guard when you need an Energy-free defensive action; inspect skill costs before committing your remaining Energy.

Find the Cursed Forest boss route
The route screenshot shows Chapter 3/10, Normal difficulty and a single Boss card named 母亲瘟疫. Follow that card to the boss rather than treating an earlier elite encounter as the chapter clear.
The combat frame confirms level 36 and 2285/2285 HP for this run. The localized name is retained because these captures do not show the boss’s native English name. The beginner guide covers the earlier chapters and how to continue after a boss chest.
Respond with the HP and Energy you have
Read the combat state at the start of your turn. The Strangling Roots frame shows boss HP 385/2285 and hero Energy 1/12; the Guard frame shows the boss at 1998/2285. These are different moments, not a prescribed turn order.
The visible Guard description says it blocks 70% incoming damage until your next turn, costs no Energy and gives +1 Energy at the start of each new round. If your next skill costs more Energy than you have, Guard provides a documented alternative while you rebuild Energy. Check the controls guide for attacks, Guard and the turn interface.
STRANGLING ROOTS is a confirmed move label and root animation. No readable combat log here establishes its damage, duration or status effect. Do not assume it is unavoidable or that Guard specifically counters the roots. Use your current HP to decide whether you need a potion before continuing damage.
Confirm Chapter 3 completion and open the chest
Victory is visible at 0/2285 HP with a clickable chest. The Complete Chapter 3 task gives +800 Gold, +120 Knowledge and two stones labeled 天蓝色磨石; TITLE UNLOCKED: Blightbane! appears. The next journey task is Complete Chapter 4.
Click the chest to inspect the separate boss reward panel, then use Continue. The task reward is not the same panel as the chest loot, so keep those sources separate when recording what you earned.
Captured loot: Blood Sword Blueprint and an Avian Egg
This one victory panel shows +1141 Gold, +2883 hero XP, +2 Knowledge, Wolf Cub +1441 pet XP, Cursed Essence ×5 and 微光粉尘 ×3. Additional cards show 280 Gold, 75 Knowledge, Common Phantom Cowl, two stones labeled 太阳锻造磨刀石, Epic Blood Sword Blueprint, Common Avian Egg and two separate potion cards.
Blood Sword Blueprint is a blueprint reward, not a completed weapon. The weapon guide keeps crafting and blueprint evidence separate. The Common Avian Egg is a confirmed reward in this chest; the pet guide explains how to open an egg at the Ranch. This single result does not establish drop chances or guarantee those items in the next clear.
