To choose Pixel Lineage oaths, open the castle’s Shrine of Oaths, select an unlocked oath and use SWAP TO THIS OATH to equip it. Only one oath is sworn at a time, so choose the effect that addresses your current problem: survival, damage, Energy, Gold or progression. Unlocking a name and reading its rank-III preview do not automatically activate that power.
Quick Guide
- Unlocking, ranking up and equipping an oath are separate actions.
- Compare each bonus together with its penalty and Knowledge cost.
- Check the active oath panel after swapping; a rank-III preview is not an active effect.

Pixel Lineage oaths: choose one active bonus
Pixel Lineage oaths have separate unlock, rank-up and swap actions. The reviewed Hunter sequence shows an unlock for 160 Knowledge and a later rank-II quote of 240 Knowledge. The active panel still shows Second Breath, proving that buying access to Hunter did not equip it in that sequence.
Open or repair the castle Shrine of Oaths
Return to the castle and open SHRINE OF OATHS before choosing an oath. The reviewed unrepaired menu quotes 350 Gold and a 5:00 build time, while explaining that you swear one oath at a time and rank 3 awakens its power. That is a repair quote from the recording, separate from Knowledge used for individual oath unlocks and upgrades. Read your own repair panel before spending; the footage’s shortcut does not make a paid quick-build necessary for the later Knowledge actions.

Second Breath and Steady Hand are worth comparing when the problem is surviving a run. Thunderclap is the attack-oriented option in the inspected group, Lucky Coin relates to Gold, and Wandering Scholar relates to XP. Those are conditional choices based on menu effects, rather than a claim that one oath beats every other oath with every class.
The existing Knowledge guide records their rank-I, rank-II and awakening previews. Second Breath’s low-health recovery and Steady Hand’s dodge/block benefit solve different problems, so decide whether health or input consistency is your main weakness. Do not add the benefits of several highlighted oaths together when the interface allows only one sworn oath.
Lucky Coin’s bonus-purse wording follows a won battle during a run. That condition does not promise a purse after every victory or a fixed amount of Gold per hour. Wandering Scholar’s scroll wording also has an equipment condition, so read that condition before expecting another scroll at the start of every run.
Magic, defense, speed and critical-hit trade-offs
Wellspring previews magic bonuses at its early ranks and an Energy effect at awakening. Glass Blade starts with critical chance, but its awakened attack and magic bonuses come with a maximum-HP penalty. A player seeking spell support should compare that penalty with Wellspring’s Energy direction instead of looking only at the largest positive percentage.
Bulwark previews stronger defense and maximum HP at awakening, while reducing attack and magic. Tempest previews speed and dodge with a defense reduction, and Hunter previews critical chance and poison with lower maximum HP. These choices trade one resource or protection for another; the negative line matters just as much as the bonus.
The table below preserves the five reviewed rank previews and next-rank quotes. All five captures show rank 1/3, not an awakened character performing the listed combat effect. Pending confirmation: practical poison, reflection, blind, chill and Energy-recovery outcomes in a controlled fight.
| Oath | Rank I | Rank II | Rank III awakening preview | Knowledge for rank II |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wellspring | +4% magic | +8% magic | Start battles with +2 Energy; each defeated foe restores 2 Energy | 270 |
| Glass Blade | +2% crit chance | +4% crit chance | +20% attack and magic, −20% max HP; first critical hit each battle blinds a surviving foe for 2 turns | 225 |
| Bulwark | +5% defense | +10% defense | +35% defense, +10% max HP, −12% attack and magic; when hit, 30% chance to reflect 40% of damage | 225 |
| Tempest | +4% speed | +8% speed | +20% speed, +5% dodge, −15% defense; dodged attacks chill the attacker | 240 |
| Hunter | +2% crit chance | +4% crit chance | +10% critical chance, −8% max HP; hits have 35% chance to poison the target (venom stacks) | 240 |
Unlock Hunter: the observed Knowledge sequence
Select the sealed question-mark slot in ALL OATHS to see its unlock action. In the captured example, the button offers UNLOCK for 160 Knowledge while the balance is 218. The following image identifies Oath of the Hunter at rank 1 and shows 58 Knowledge, matching that purchase in this sequence.
Use the newly revealed name and effect list to confirm what you actually unlocked. The following Hunter panel offers a separate rank-2 upgrade for 240 Knowledge. Its disabled upgrade button at a balance of 58 is consistent with insufficient funds for that quoted upgrade, not a failure to unlock Hunter.
This example confirms the inspected Hunter route and price, rather than a universal unlock cost for every sealed slot. Other unopened slots may reveal different names or prices. Select the particular slot and use its displayed action instead of applying the Hunter amount to the whole shrine.
Equip, rank up and awaken are different actions
After unlocking, use SWAP TO THIS OATH if you want that oath to become active. Then read the SWORN OATH panel and its rank. In the reviewed unlock images, the selected tile changes while Second Breath remains sworn, so highlighting a tile is not sufficient evidence of an equipped bonus.
Rank I and rank II have their own effects, while rank III is labeled AWAKEN. The shrine instructions say Knowledge raises ranks and rank 3 awakens the power. Planning toward that rank is different from already possessing it, so do not describe a rank-I character as having the entire rank-III effect.
Keep the costs distinct when budgeting. Hunter’s initial unlock and its quoted rank-II upgrade are separate payments, and the inspected other oaths have different next-rank quotes. A total awakening cost for every oath remains Pending confirmation until the complete set of required purchases is observed.
Choose the next oath action for your run
If you are learning Warrior attack timing, compare survivability and dodge/block assistance before chasing an advanced damage trade-off. If your chosen kit already depends on Energy, inspect Wellspring’s awakening description alongside the Mage barrier rule. These are recommendations from the visible effects, not measured class-and-oath rankings.
If you want Gold or XP progression, read the relevant Lucky Coin or Wandering Scholar conditions before spending. An outcome from one reward screen cannot show which oath produced the fastest long-term progression. Use the best class guide for role selection and the Gold guide for the currency context rather than assuming an oath removes all other build decisions.
For an unavailable upgrade, first compare the visible balance with the next-rank price. For an unchanged active bonus, check whether you only unlocked the tile or actually used the swap action. Confirm the new sworn name, rank and resource balance after the corresponding action; these are different success signals for different tasks.
