Pixel Lineage Bard build: support before burst

This setup is for a starting Bard or a Bard who wants a practical support direction while levelling. Keep Cutting Verse as the low-commitment offensive option, unlock Mending Melody for healing, and add Rallying Chorus when its level requirement is met. A Bard-compatible instrument and the healing-triggered Encore passive are the core; an expensive full set is not a prerequisite established by these menus.

The Bard class guide explains the individual moves. This build instead connects those moves to a weapon choice, a one-Oath decision and a repeatable turn priority. It is a recommended starter configuration based on the displayed tools, not a recorded Torment clear or an endgame damage ranking.

Begin with the skills and equipment already available to your character. If Mending Melody has not unlocked, do not plan a healing role around an unavailable button. The selection preview labels Bard Hard and emphasizes support, which helps explain why a first solo run can demand more decisions than choosing a defensive starting kit.

Build configuration and unlock order

Use the table as a progression checklist, not a skill-tree allocation. The class preview supports the level-3 and level-7 unlock labels; the exact Energy costs and cooldowns below are separately reported by the community Bard reference. If your current tooltip differs, follow the in-game value instead of extending an old cost into a new patch.

Encore says successful healing restores 1 Energy. Mending Melody mentions the same recovery in its description, so the safe configuration counts one confirmed refund rather than inventing two. A heal button becoming available does not mean it is always the right action; compare the target’s missing health and the other actions you could take.

Nightsong Lute or Drowned Carillon?

Two player-supplied Auction House samples give concrete instruments to compare. The Nimble Nightsong Lute has Magic, critical-damage, dodge, lifesteal and Energy Flow fields. The Masterful Drowned Carillon has a larger displayed Magic value plus Skill Damage and Boss Damage fields. Both inspected copies explicitly say BARD ONLY.

For a resource-oriented starter experiment, Nightsong Lute is the more relevant example to inspect because it actually has an Energy Flow line. For a damage-oriented comparison, inspect the Carillon’s offensive lines. Those are reasons to compare the items, not proof that either one heals more, that Energy Flow triggers on every action, or that lifesteal also applies to every song.

The weapons directory preserves more rolls and the available acquisition context. Compare your own copy’s complete tooltip before buying or replacing anything: a name alone does not reproduce the prefixes, rarity, improvement level or bonuses in this sample. The photographed auction amounts are historical bids, not guaranteed budgets or current shop prices.

Choose one Oath and avoid unnecessary rerolls

Choose Second Breath when staying alive long enough to take a healing turn is the immediate problem. Consider Wellspring when you specifically want its displayed magic bonus. The Oaths guide separates active ranks from later awakening previews, and the Shrine permits only one sworn Oath; this build never adds both bonuses into the same calculation.

Keep a useful race while learning the support loop. Human and Quick Study appear in the project’s progression material, but that does not make either a compulsory Bard choice or a tested healing multiplier. Race and Trait use separate controls, and spending one kind of spin does not establish a change in the other field.

A fixed endgame stat allocation is Pending confirmation. Do not turn an unmeasured healing formula into a universal percentage split. If you cannot survive to your next useful turn, compare the actual HP and defensive results on your gear before sacrificing them for a larger offensive number; that is a practical recommendation, not a claimed optimal breakpoint.

A conditional Bard turn loop

Start by checking whether an ally needs a heal that Mending Melody can actually deliver, and whether the move is available. When healing is needed and the action can be paid for, use it and read the resulting HP and Energy change. Do not spend a turn trying to manufacture an Encore refund from a situation the footage has not demonstrated.

When no urgent heal is required, compare an available Chorus with an offensive action. Rallying Chorus grants Inspired for three turns in the preview, but its unmeasured benefit is not permission to promise more party damage than a direct attack. Cutting Verse is the starting offensive tool and can weaken a foe; a chance-based effect should never be the only reason you assume the next hit will be safe.

After every action, recheck the visible cooldown and Energy before planning the next one. This makes the loop a priority system—needed healing, useful buff window, then offensive opportunity—rather than a rigid script that ignores damage taken. If a critical recovery action is unavailable, use the actual options in your current menu rather than queuing a move this configuration has not unlocked.

Progress into a Super class without inventing its build

The selection preview names Minstrel, Siren and Pianist as Bard branches. The community Super-class article describes their themes as healing/control, shrieking offense and piano-based attacks respectively, but a name and a move list are not a complete equipment build. Keep this starter plan separate from a claim that one of those branches is always the strongest.

The existing Super Classes guide explains the reviewed trainer context. Its detailed player evidence is mainly a Warrior example, so do not copy that character’s exact levels or every choice into a promised Bard unlock route. Read the current Bard shrine menu and branch descriptions before committing to a lasting selection.

For the next upgrade, fix the problem you can observe: an unavailable healing action, a weapon you cannot equip, insufficient survival, or a resource line you have not understood. Buying a rarer instrument without changing the failed decision may leave the same problem intact. Keep the original tooltip and your result so you can compare one meaningful change at a time.

Version, evidence and the next check

This guide uses the supplied class and auction captures, the community Bard reference and reviewed class-selection footage. The selection clip can verify the role and visible skill wording; it does not show a completed Bard combat build. Recorded builds are unknown, and the auction samples were captured on 14 October 2026.

The full stat distribution, complete armor/relic package, healing scaling and a Bard high-difficulty clear remain Pending confirmation. Grand Finale is also omitted from the core configuration because the community pages place it in different base/advanced-class contexts and the supplied starting preview does not settle that difference. These gaps limit the plan to starter support, rather than justifying an invented late-game rotation.
