For an advanced Pixel Lineage Mage build, the filmed Archon example combines Surge opening Energy, Bulwark protection, Overcharge and Soulfeast with Dragon Gate. Its shown allocation is Arcane 50, Vitality 28 and Defense 20 at level 50. Copy the resource functions only after checking your progression, actual item rolls and Wellspring rank; this is one Torment XVII example.
Quick Guide
- Use the shown late-game sample as a functional package, not an early unlock route.
- Check Arcane 50 / Vitality 28 / Defense 20 against your available points.
- Read Surge, Bulwark, Overcharge and Soulfeast on your own gear.
- After Dragon Gate or a boss phase, check the actual Energy and log before acting.

Pixel Lineage Mage build: Energy, barrier and finishers
This Pixel Lineage Mage build follows Zilford’s level-50 Dullahan Mage showcase: Arcane investment, a Surge opening, Bulwark protection, Overcharge for expensive skills and Soulfeast on finishing blows. The combat footage identifies Dragon Gate as an Archon Ultra move. This is an advanced sample for a character who already has the relevant progression and gear, not a starting-character unlock guide.
The useful idea is a resource chain. Begin with opening Energy and protection, spend on a suitable damaging skill, then read the actual refund and finishing-blow results before selecting the next action. The video shows the chain working in a particular Torment XVII run; it does not prove every boss will die in one hit or every copied item name will reproduce its damage. Starting characters should use the Mage class guide first; the title’s one-day/F2P claims are not independently verified.
The recorded gear and power package
The equipment screens identify a Swift Tempest Hat with Surge, Crowfather’s Cloak with Thornmail, Plated Tempest legs with Overcharge, Eye of the Hollow with Bulwark and a Todd’s relic carrying Momentum. The weapon has Soulfeast, but its displayed title is shortened to “Tormented”; the frame does not justify inventing the full weapon name. A scroll grants Reply All and carries Glass Cannon.
Treat the power package as the reason for each slot. Surge supplies opening Energy; Bulwark supplies an opening barrier; Soulfeast pays out on a finishing blow. Momentum depends on landing hits without then taking a hit, while Glass Cannon explicitly increases incoming hit damage. The trade-off matters before trying the setup at a difficulty where survival is already unreliable.
| Slot / source time | Observed item or action | Displayed Power |
|---|---|---|
| Helmet · 0:20 | +7 Swift Tempest Hat | Surge: +2 opening Energy |
| Chest · 0:24 | +7 Crowfather’s Cloak | Thornmail: returns 30% of hit damage |
| Legs · 0:28 | +10 Plated Tempest | Overcharge: 3+ Energy skill bonus / refund |
| Weapon · 0:36 | Full name not readable | Soulfeast: finish a foe for HP and Energy |
| Relic · 0:40 | +10 Eye of the Hollow | Bulwark: opening barrier |
| Relic · 0:45 | Todd’s relic; title clipped | Momentum: hit stacks, reset on taking a hit |
| Scroll · 0:52 | Reply All scroll; title clipped | Glass Cannon: damage / incoming-hit trade-off |

Zilford · SourceShown stat allocation and the Wellspring dependency
The level-50 Stats menu shows Arcane 50/50, Vitality 28/50 and Defense 20/50. Arcane is marked Recommended for this Mage; the filmed Arcane line displays +35.3% Power and +5 Energy, and Vitality displays +48.1% HP. These values belong to that menu state and are not a measured universal formula or a promise that the next patch uses identical scaling.
The Oaths guide records Wellspring’s magic bonuses at early ranks and its opening/defeat Energy effects as awakening features. In the filmed boss log, Wellspring supplies +2 Energy at a phase-ending hit. Do not add the awakening effect to a Rank-I card: check your active sworn Oath and rank, and distinguish inspecting a tile from actually swapping to it.

Zilford · SourceHow the Energy and protection loop works
The filmed Surge tooltip says each battle starts with +2 Energy. Bulwark says it begins with a barrier equal to 20% of maximum HP, and the boss opening log separately records the barrier and Surge event. This makes them opening effects; they are not a reason to count fresh opening Energy again on every turn.
Overcharge’s filmed tooltip adds 15% damage to skills costing at least 3 Energy and refunds 1 Energy, with a shared gear-refund limit per action. Soulfeast’s tooltip pays 12% maximum HP and 1 Energy on finishing a foe. A boss-phase result shows both named entries, but this single example does not establish every stacking interaction across all powers, kills and damage sources.
The practical recommendation is to check the post-action log before promising yourself another expensive cast. A surviving target may deny a finishing-blow payout, a cheaper move may not satisfy Overcharge’s condition, and a different item can change the resources available. “Large MAX EN on gear” and a discrete Energy refund are different displayed fields; do not combine the numbers as though the menu had verified a one-to-one conversion.

Zilford · SourceDragon Gate and the two-phase boss example
At 2:30, the combat banner identifies ULTRA — ARCHON, Dragon Gate. The opening log shows the barrier and Surge. At 2:32, the log records 479,148 Dragon Gate damage against the first form, a Burn status, Wellspring +2 Energy, Overcharge +1 and Soulfeast +1; the HP part of Soulfeast is 0 in that result because the character is already at full health.
The same log announces a second form, Vitrea · Rose Shatter. That is the important decision point: the first phase ending is not the whole battle ending. By 2:40 the reviewed frame shows that form at zero HP with a Boss Slain reward. These observations support a two-phase example, not a guaranteed damage benchmark for every enemy or proof that every intervening action used the same move.
For your own attempt, open with the resources your actual setup provides, select an available skill that fits the target and re-evaluate after the phase transition. Do not automatically spend the remaining Energy on a buff if the next action needs it. The filmed Mage’s Sense tooltip at 2:36 costs 1 Energy and gives the next damaging attack within two turns +15%, followed by two turns of 15% reduced damage after use or expiry; it is not a permanent damage increase.

A lower-cost Mage path before copying the showcase
A starter Mage does not need this entire enhanced package to begin progressing. The supplied inventory has a Mage-only Iron Staff with +7 Magic and +3 Defense; later supplied Tempest Rod samples have different Magic, Energy and defensive rolls. The weapons directory lets you compare a real available item rather than buying by a creator’s icon.
Treat the filmed Surge/Overcharge/Bulwark functions as upgrade goals only when a compatible item is actually available to you. Keep the existing functional staff while learning the starting input, then replace a slot when its own tooltip addresses the failure you observe. A specific drop route, current auction price and the cheapest way to acquire the showcased Power on the right item are Pending confirmation.
Weaknesses and changes that break this sample
Glass Cannon’s filmed trade-off is +25% dealt damage and +15% damage taken from hits. Momentum builds by 5% per landed hit up to 25% and resets when a hit is taken. A loadout with these powers asks you to care about surviving and avoiding disruption, not just copying the largest number in the item list.
Other archived footage mentions a 25% Overcharge figure, whereas this item and Build screen show 15%. This page retains the 15% value as the filmed item’s own tooltip, without silently declaring a universal current value or inventing a patch date. Check your actual tooltip and the shared-refund wording after an update; recorded build IDs remain unknown.
Video chapters, version and remaining gaps
Zilford’s public showcase was reviewed on 16 October 2026 through original decoded frames at the equipment, stats and boss-action timestamps. Its automatic captions are mostly background music and are not used as a spoken build explanation. The video itself, its UI and the combat log carry the claims above; recorded build and filming date are unknown. Full clipped item names, Trait selection, acquisition costs and an independently repeated clear remain Pending confirmation. Use the Legendary Powers guide to compare the broader effects.
