For solo PvE progression, our Pixel Lineage tier list puts Warrior in S among starting classes, with Mage and Archer in A. Summoner, Sentinel and Greatsword are A recommendations within the reviewed Super options; Archon is a conditional A pick at Ultra. These are editorial recommendations from documented kits and examples, not a controlled clear-speed ranking.
Quick Guide
- Starting classes: Warrior S; Mage and Archer A; Thief, Fist and Bard B.
- Super shortlist: Summoner, Sentinel and Greatsword A; Berserk B.
- Ultra: Archon A with its resource and progression requirements met.
- Unreviewed branches stay unranked; grades are editorial, not official.

Pixel Lineage class tier list: six starting classes
Compare these six at the starting-class stage, with ordinary progression gear and their own unlocked moves. Warrior takes S for its protective opening and low-cost defensive actions; Mage and Archer take A for useful offensive tools with clearer resource or survivability tradeoffs. Thief, Fist and Bard remain viable B choices when you want their specific mechanics.
Within a band, row order is not a tie-breaker. A B class is conditional for this solo objective, not unusable. The class comparison keeps the full skill text; use the individual class links in the table when a cost, effect or limitation matters to your choice.
| Class / guide | Tier | Why pick it for solo PvE? | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | S | Opening +50% Defense until a direct hit, a free Guard and a Defense-scaling bash make the most forgiving starting plan here. | Opening protection ends; most bosses resist the bash stun. Taunt adds little when you are already alone. |
| Mage | A | Sense gives a planned damage window; staff attacks and later spell options reward deliberate Energy use. | Guard costs 1 Energy; Sense has a later damage penalty. Summoner and Archon skills are not part of the starting kit. |
| Archer | A | Power Shot explicitly penetrates 30% of enemy Defense, giving a direct answer to armored targets. | That percentage does not apply to every arrow. Twin Shot values and Crippling Arrow proc chance are unconfirmed. |
| Thief | B | Haste adds 25 percentage points of critical chance for three turns; landed Backstabs are critical. | Backstab can be dodged and has a listed six-turn cooldown. Haste does not improve turn order. |
| Fist | B | Four-hit Combo and the Fist-only +15% Iron Fists bonus support a focused physical kit. | Each hit rolls separately. Skybreaker needs a hit and a further 50% stun roll, with an eight-turn cooldown. |
| Bard | B | Mending Melody and the one-Energy Encore refund give a recovery option when healing succeeds. | Healing consumes an action; the healing amount and inspiration bonus are unquantified. Support value is not a solo damage multiplier. |
Super class tier list: compare later branches
Rate a Super branch after specialization with its listed moves available, not as a level-one starting kit. Summoner’s Every Foe skill is the clearest directly documented clearing option in this shortlist. Its A band reflects an actionable progression choice; it does not establish superiority over every unreviewed branch.
Sentinel and Greatsword receive provisional A recommendations from their visible counter/Defense-breaking and broad-attack roles. Berserk is B for solo progression because its aggressive damage-taking direction needs more care, even though Bloodbath offers lifesteal. We have no matched-gear race between these branches. Read the Super class guide for the shrine choice and the separate Mage build for the Summoner route.
| Super / route guide | Tier | Why pick it? | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summoner | A | The phoenix summon targets Every Foe: a concrete group-clearing tool, backed by the player-recommended Mage progression route. | Budget 5 Energy and a six-turn cooldown. This does not prove a solo boss one-shot or immediate access to the move. |
| Sentinel | A | The reviewed counter and Defense-breaking preview supports a defensive Warrior direction for longer solo fights. | This is a kit-based recommendation; counter timing, full costs and boss clear results are not measured. |
| Greatsword | A | Broad cleaves, ground attacks and Whirlwind give a clear group-damage direction within Warrior branches. | Coverage is described by the preview, not measured damage. Worldcleaver is a separate later investment. |
| Berserk | B | Aggressive multi-hit attacks and Bloodbath lifesteal offer a damage-and-recovery plan. | Damage-taking incentives are risky alone. Bloodbath costs 5 Energy, has six-turn cooldown, and healing is capped at 20% max HP per action. |

Super branches awaiting a rating
Cleric and Hexer are named in the Mage preview, but names and skill labels alone do not establish their solo performance. The following are known branch references awaiting enough skill effects, costs or progression evidence for the same assessment. This is not a complete Super roster; unlisted branches are not assumed absent.
| Known branch references | Why unranked |
|---|---|
| Cleric / Hexer | Branch identity is documented; comparable solo kit effects and resource limits need review. |
| Rogue / Assassin / Beast Tamer | Branch identity is documented; comparable solo kit effects and resource limits need review. |

Ultra class tier list: Archon is a conditional A
Archon is the reviewed Summoner Ultra route: matching Sigil for awakening, then matching Tomes for later skills. Its A recommendation is for an established character that can pay for its actions. It is not a claim that Archon beats all other Ultras; the remaining forms below have not been assigned comparison grades.
Legion Gate and Dragon Gate give the route concrete damage options; the shown costs are 6 and 7 Energy. Behemoth Pact shows ally healing and protection, but its ally effect is not counted here as proven self-healing. Its conflicting four- and six-turn cooldown captures do not support selecting one universal value. The Mage progression guide explains how to build toward damage, durability and usable Energy rather than copying a single high-level loadout.
| Ultra / progression guide | Tier | Why pick it? | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Archon | A | A demonstrated awakening route, learned damage skills and an advanced PvE combat example give a usable progression plan. | Requires Summoner, a matching Sigil and Tomes for later skills. Energy and survivability gear matter; an advanced showcase is not a starter guarantee. |

Ultra forms awaiting a rating
Beastlord, Undisputed, Godshot, Worldcleaver, Doomcaller, Shadowbroker and Banshee have reviewed Sigil mappings. The tooltips name an awakening and its first skill, but do not show enough skill costs, effects and solo outcomes to rank them. Open a linked Sigil profile to check the supported prerequisite; do not read an unranked entry as C tier.
Stormhawk appears in a matching-class Tome requirement and Seraph in a Cleric preview. They also remain unranked. This is the documented subset, not a claim to list every Ultra.

What changes the recommendation?
For a first solo run, favor actions you can afford and protection you can actually maintain. Warrior’s opening Defense is useful before its first direct hit, then you must use the rest of the kit. Archer’s Power Shot gives a stated Defense-penetration tool, but the bow label does not make enemy attacks miss. Mage needs an Energy decision: spending 1 on Sense may leave too little for your intended spell or Guard.
Against a boss, do not build the plan around a control effect that the tooltip limits. Warrior’s bash notes boss immunity, while Fist’s Skybreaker requires a hit and a further stun roll. Thief’s critical Backstab can still miss. These conditions matter more than treating every preview damage number as a guaranteed result.
For a party, revisit the Bard build: healing, Encore and support choices have a different purpose from solo clearing. This page does not lower or raise a team-support rating using the solo table. If you only want a weapon or role preference, the best class guide remains the shorter decision path.
If you are still starting out, use the class overview to choose a play pattern, then follow the progression guide. Do not skip the matching class or skill resources to imitate an Ultra example.
How this tier list is assessed
This is an unofficial editorial recommendation for solo PvE, not a developer ranking or a controlled test at identical gear and levels. Starting, Super and Ultra grades are separate comparisons; a material-review date is not a game patch date.
The bands express recommendations for solo PvE progression within each growth stage. S means strongly recommended for that stage; A is a stable option once its stated conditions are met; B needs a specific plan or accepts a meaningful tradeoff; C would mean a more restricted fit for this objective. No reviewed entry is assigned C in this edition, and no S is forced into the Super or Ultra board.
We consider survival, damage and group coverage, Energy sustain, formation requirements, and boss adaptability. These are qualitative criteria, not hidden numeric scores. Formation requirements include known prerequisites and skill resources; no fixed market budget, drop rate or farming time is assumed. Same-stage comparisons do not borrow later Ultra skills to inflate a starting-class grade.
The underlying material includes class-selection captures, Warrior and Mage branch previews, player-supplied skill panels, the player-recommended Summoner progression route and a separate advanced Archon combat example. Menu descriptions support kit functions; combat examples remain individual characters. The original game build and capture dates are not established. Material was re-reviewed on October 19, 2026; that date is not a claimed game patch.
Update a grade when a documented skill, resource requirement or relevant same-condition combat example changes the reasoning. Difficulty labels, rarity, menu power bars and a new upload date do not establish that a class became stronger.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best starting class for solo PvE?
Warrior is our S recommendation for learning solo progression, based on its opening Defense and defensive actions. Mage and Archer are A alternatives. This is an editorial kit assessment, not measured fastest clears.
Why is Bard B if it can heal?
This table prioritizes solo progression. Healing and Encore are useful, but the reviewed healing amount and support buff are unquantified. Party support has a separate purpose; B does not mean Bard is unusable.
Is Archon the strongest Ultra class?
Not established. Archon receives a conditional A recommendation from its documented route, skills and an advanced combat example. Other Ultra forms remain unranked until their relevant kits can be assessed.
Does this rank races, pets or PvP?
No. This edition compares classes for solo PvE, with starting, Super and Ultra stages kept separate. Races, pet rankings and PvP need their own evidence and criteria.
